ANNA MCCORMALLY
(SHE/HER/HERS)

DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

Anna McCormally joined DC Affordable Law Firm as Development Director in October of 2024. Anna manages fundraising strategy and operations for DCALF, growing and diversifying the organization’s funding streams. Her north star at DCALF is sustainable growth: expanding the organization’s capacity and impact to ensure DC residents have access to legal representation when they need it.

Anna came to DCALF from the Washington Area Bicycling Association, the DC region’s local bicycling and transportation equity advocacy organization, where she stewarded relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, and grantmakers; directed events that brought together hundreds of neighbors, advocates, and elected officials; and contributed to organizational strategy as a member of the senior management team. She also oversaw WABA’s membership program, providing 5000 dues-paying members with resources on bicycling safety and transportation equity and a personal connection to the impacts of their giving.

Prior to her time at WABA, Anna was the Executive Assistant to the General Secretary of the Friends Committee on National Legislation, a national, nonpartisan Quaker organization that lobbies Congress for peace, justice, and environmental stewardship. She has also worked at two local bookstores: East City Bookshop and Riverby Books.

Anna has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana, and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing from the University of Maryland College Park. She has lived in the District since 2012 and is dedicated to building a more equitable Washington, DC, through her professional work connecting individuals to causes that matter to them, her volunteer work with groups advocating for safe access to reproductive health care, and her work as a ride marshal at bicycle advocacy rides and events.
